A TRIBUTE TO MANUEL MUR OTI

Keeping the tradition of this Festival in paying tributes to Galician cinema professionals, this year the figure of Manuel Mur Oti, who was born in Vigo, was recovered. He was one of the most personal and polemical film directors in Spanish cinema. The tribute included the edition of a book — which was co-ordinated by José Luis Castro de Paz and Jaime Pena —, and the projection of several of his most representative works:

Cielo negro / Black Sky (Spain, 1951)

Orgullo / Pride (Spain, 1955)

Fedra (Spain, 1956)

Morir... Dormir... Tal vez soñar / To die... To sleep... Perchance a dream (Spain, 1976)
